What is the difference between a Contact and a Case

This article helps you understand the difference between a Contact and a Case in ERM

Contact in ERM is the same thing as a person -- like an entrepreneur your organization works with.

Case is meant to organize the help you give that person. It allows you to track what type of support that individual needs, where in the process they are in receiving that support, and how long it took your team to deliver that support in full (time to close).

A Contact can have multiples Cases open. Cases are customizable, so they could be anything from different types of support they need (funding, help finding a mentor, succession planning) to specific programs they're a part of (Summer Accelerator, 123 Cohort, etc.)
