How to manage Page gating 🔑

In this article you will be guided on how to manage page gating so you can require account creation and approval to access specific pages of your site.

You can use individual Page level gating to keep specific EcoMap Platform areas private to certain membership groups. If you're looking to gate your entire platform, check out How to manage platform gating.

Note that an Admin must promote a user from basic Verified User to any of these other options, so it's important to keep in mind if you start Page gating for pages you want to be granting access to frequently, that increases the Administrative time commitment.

The permission levels available in descending order are:

  • Admin (which includes all below capabilities)
  • Community Admin (includes: Service provider, fellow, verified user, SubMap manager, and Guide manager)
  • Case Manager
  • Service Provider
  • SubMap Manager
  • Guide Manager (A Verified User with the singular addition of the ability to create and manage Guides)
  • Fellow (This isn't leveraged currently, so its a great option for a unique use case as there aren't any special permissions associated other than the pages you may make available below)
  • Company Partner
  • Verified User (the primary / basic user type who has signed up for an account)

1. From the Platform Settings admin dashboard, click on Platform Settings

To access the Platform Setting section, click on your profile picture or first initial in the upper right hand corner of the dashboard, then select Platform Settings.

Then, select the Platform Settings Section.

1-3

2. Select Platform Gating

3. Scroll down to Page-Specific Permissions and use the right hand column Set Minimum User Type to manage what time of member has access to specific pages.

If you don't set any minimum type, then anyone can access that page on the web without creating a profile.

If you set it to Verified User, only individuals who setup an account / user profile can access that page.

If you set it to Fellow, only an individual who has created an account and an Admin has updated their user permission to Fellow can access that page.

And so on, so forth.

Great job leveraging page Gating! 🌟
