How to add Data (Orgs, Resources, Events) 📄

This article will cover how to add an Organization to your EcoMap. The same process applies to adding Resources and Events as well.

If you'd like to add an Organization, Resource, or Event to your EcoMap the process is nearly identical for each. This tutorial will walk you through it using adding an Organization as the example. 

1. From the Organizations Directory, click on Add Organization

2. The very first step is to Search the organization by name to confirm it is not already on the platform. 

You can choose to skip this step, but it's a best practice to check first to avoid creating duplicates.

3. If the Organization doesn't already exist in the Platform, you'll then be prompted to input the primary website URL for it.

4. Tap Next. 

5. The system will automatically try to pull in a logo image for the organization, the Organization, and a short description. You can edit all of these elements if you'd like. 

You'll have additional check boxes to complete as well. 

Note: If you select ☑️ "Want to add more details" this will bring up a long description option.

6. When you're done filling out the above form, select Next.

7. The last step is to tag this Organization with all the appropriate keywords. 

This is an extremely important step in helping this Organization be easily found by your end users as Keywords are a key structural component of your EcoMap.

8. Click Submit. This new Organization will either be automatically approved or will be pending until reviewed by an Admin based on how the platform is configured.

 

Repeat this same process with slightly different forms to add a Resource or Event.
